Movie Review: Iron Man

Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), the genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist was conducting weapons tests and demonstrations in the Middle East. However, while moving from the testing ground back to home base, Tony's convoy is attacked by terrorist, he gets severely injured and is kidnapped. He is then tasked with making a super weapon for the people that kidnapped him. Through trickery and deceit, Tony builds the first Iron Man suit and escapes. Suffering and epiphany , Tony endeavours to help the people that his weapons have hurt. 

This film is the beginning of Marvel's MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), it offers a refreshing balance between realism and the extraordinary. The films pacing is excellent and the character building is marvellous. Tony as a character grows throughout the movie. Downey brought Iron Man and Tony Stark to life, being the perfect actor for the role. This movie is the beginning of the largest cinematic universe to date, and what a start it had.
