The Dark Knight

With the help of allies Lt. Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) and DA Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), Batman (Christian Bale) has been able to keep a tight lid on crime in Gotham City. But when a vile young criminal calling himself the Joker (Heath Ledger) suddenly throws the town into chaos, the caped Crusader begins to tread a fine line between heroism and vigilantism.

The second movie of the trilogy, The Dark Knight can be considered the best movie of the three. Returning as Batman in Christopher Nolan's movie, Christian Bale acts a very realistic batman. With the exceptional performance of Heath ledger as the Joker, arguably the reason the film is remembered as fondly as it is, Ledger's joker can be considered the best recreation of the joker in a live action film. The Joker within this film is my favourite of the may iteration brought to life by various actors. While it can be considered very static, the action within film is very good, and the actors bring life to every scene. The story line is superb and with an excellent opening and ending, as well as the pacing.

I consider this movie the pinnacle of Batman movies as the acting is superb, the directing excellent and the story line and characters all loved, especially Heath Ledger's Joker. Brought to life like never before, this movie showed the world how good superhero movies could really be.
